  • Launch the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  • Tap on General.
  • Tap on Reset, you’ll have to scroll all the way to the bottom.
  • Tap on Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
  • Type in your password when prompted. You’ll only get this step if you have a password enabled.
  • Tap on Reset Dictionary in the popup menu to confirm you’d like to reset the keyboard dictionary.

Set Keyboard Preferences

  • From a Home screen, navigate: Settings General Keyboard.
    • If an app isn’t available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  • Tap Keyboards to view a list of saved keyboards.
    • Alternatively, to add a new keyboard, tap Add New Keyboard then select a keyboard type (e.g., French, etc.).
  • If available, tap a saved keyboard (e.g., English, etc.) to view layout options (e.g., QWERTY, etc.).
    • Enabled when a checkmark is present.
  • Tap < Back (upper-left) then < Keyboards to return to the previous screen.
  • Tap the preferred switch(es) to turn the following options on or off:
    • Auto-Capitalization
    • Auto-Correction
    • Check Spelling
    • Enable Caps Lock
    • Predictive
    • Smart Punctuation
    • Slide to Type
    • Delete Slide-to-Type by Word
    • Character Preview
    • “.” Shortcut
    • Enable Dictation

Create a Keyboard Shortcut

  • From a Home screen, navigate: Settings General Keyboard
    • If an app isn’t available on your Home screen, swipe left to access the App Library.
  • Tap Text Replacement.
  • Tap the Add icon + (upper-right).
  • From the Phrase field, enter a phrase (e.g., On my way!).
  • From the Shortcut field, enter a shortcut for the entered phrase (e.g., omw).
  • Tap Save (upper-right).
